Dentist Excuse #4 in dental practice time management

June is national dentist excuse month in dental practice time management.

As humans, we use excuses way more than we think. Sometimes explicitly to others and more often simply in our own heads.

Excuses keep us “right” or at least make us believe we are.

Excuses reduce the need to think differently or change. This is THE #1 risk to independent professionals like you.

…ultimately excuses also keep us from inventing, migrating, or creating the life we want

This week’s excuse quote is this…

“Not managing your time and making excuses are two bad habits. Don’t put them both together by claiming you “don’t have time.””
-Bo Bennett in ‘Logically Fallacious.’

I actually hate the phrase “bad habit” because there are no “bad habits.” Everyone’s habit is a perfect habit. The real issue is simply needing DIFFERENT perfect habits especially in dental practice time management.

The “I don’t have time” excuse is actually the #1 I personally hear relate to failures to fix the fundamentals of selling or marketing a dental practice. Birth and death are pretty much the only things that occur with perfect timing. Everything else is a choice…

So……again….if you aren’t getting the fee’s you would like or seeing the patients you’d like, what’s your excuse for not fixing that and your time management ?
